Who Are We?
What We Do
Youth Minds Alliance is a youth-led mental health organization, based in Southern California, with members spanning nationwide. Our work focuses on educating, advocating, and influencing policymakers and the public on youth mental health needs to propel decisions that would allocate adequate funding for programs that best serve youth and young adults.
Since the beginning, Youth Minds Alliance, has climbed the ladder to take part in statewide efforts, working to make peer-to-peer mental health programs billable under the $4.4 billion California's Children & Youth Behavioral Health Initiative, along with the CA Children's Trust — one of the leading mental health advocacy organizations in the nation. Youth Minds Alliance is widely connected; we have contact with governor-appointed mental health commissioners, professors, state legislators, and members of state administrative departments (CA Department of Education, CA Department of Health Care Services, and more), all of whom are working to help YMA expand its reach in the realm of mental health advocacy. YMA was recognized by U.S. Congress Representatives and the California State Senate for its suicide prevention campaigns.
Here at Youth Minds Alliance, we are continuing to work on more peer-to-peer initiatives to support California students. It is our hope that with our collective efforts, we will soon expand our work in policy to reach more people all across the United States.
